Wyoming Arts Council -Neltje Blanchan Award – 2004

 An award given annually to a writer whose work is inspired by nature.

Judge, Bill Roorbach, said: “This is lyrical, passionate, and often surprising writing, full of love for natural Wyoming, but bigger than that somehow, reaching for ideas that encompass all the struggles that any encounter with nature is going to bring.”

WILLA Literary Award -2009 Finalist for Nonfiction Staking Her Claim: Women Homesteading the West

 "The WILLA Literary Awards, which celebrate the finest books published about the Women’s West during 2008, are sponsored by Women Writing the West. These awards are given in honor of author Willa Cather to books that meet the high standards she set decades ago."

Mountains and Plains Independent Booksellers Association comprises more than 250 booksellers, publishers and wholesalers in 12 states: Arizona, California, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Its annual award honors outstanding books set in this region.
